My art galleries are still mostly unavailable due to a malware attack.

I appreciate your patience; I am still having problems with my galleries; still working on an alternative as of today, the 16th of April. Please contact me if you have any questions.

“Sentinel (Anclote Keys Lighthouse)”

A new color multiple linoleum block print, making its debut at the annual Roycroft jury this coming week! Nine by twelve inches, five carved blocks and eleven ink colors. For this one, I tried Frances Gearhart’s (1869-1958) method of thinned, oil-based inks brushed directly onto the blocks instead of rolled and each block burnished with a baren and a wooden spoon instead of on the press. Sort of a hybrid between the Japanese watercolor-based moku hanga woodcut method on thin, fibrous “rice” papers and the European method of using oil-based inks on thick, sized paper on a press. (The lines on the purple cloud are from the Japanese Hosho paper.)
