Dunedin, FL Art Harvest – Nov. 7th & 8th, 2015

My first time exhibiting at the annual Art Harvest art show in Dunedin, FL, this weekend: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm — both Saturday 11/7 & Sunday 11/8. Studio Ibis will be in booth #225, with color block prints, copper plate etchings and mezzotints. Two new pieces in this show: copper plate etchings “Confidence” (3″x5″) and “Athena Glaukopis” (5″x7″). Both hand-colored in watercolor and also left in plain, oil-based umber ink on Rives BFK.

Handsome Boy!

My first woodcut since high school; just a little two-block summer experiment in birch plywood, hand-pulled on Hosho. I don’t think I’ll use the birch again; too splintery and pretty assertive grain for carving. I have five small blocks of Japanese shina plywood to try next, and my tools are newly sharpened.  I’m developing a new boat design for it; we’ll see how it goes.
