Process

Some thoughts…

My copper-plate etchings are made using ferric chloride as my etchant; oil-based Graphic Chemical inks and mostly Rives B.F.K and Stonehenge papers. My press is a second-hand Blick Master Etch Model II, also used to produce my block prints. I use linoleum mounted on birch plywood and an array of woodcutting tools for carving and Exacto blade retractable pens for detail. I plan on offering more step-by-step photos and perhaps embedded videos here on this page to show my process from start to finish.

But I always start a new print journey with a sketchbook and a drawing…
